Tufts University's Anti-Intimidation Statement
Working together, Tufts Hillel, Tufts Friends of Israel, the Arab Student Association, the Muslim Student Association and the Middle Eastern Student Society, with the support of the Student Senate and the office of the University President have co-written and signed a mutual Anti-Intimidation Statement in regard to the Middle East:
An Inclusive Statement Against
Intimidation of Parties Involved in the Middle East Debate
at Tufts University
The conflict in the Middle East has been used as a means of
enflaming hatred and legitimizing intimidation towards Jews,
Israelis, Muslims, and Arabs across the country and on campuses
of higher education. We, student leaders at Tufts University,
join together alongside our President in signing this bill
condemning the rise of hatred towards these groups on our
campus. We call on all members of our community to speak out
against attempts to intimidate any group and/or individual
on our campus. We pledge to combine our efforts to help construct
a more civil dialogue on our campus, one that does not cross
the line into intimidation or hatred.
