Want to know how you can make a concrete impact on
Holocaust and Genocide Education at Tufts?

Tufts Trustee Emeritus Bill Cummings & his wife Joyce, along with the Cummings Foundation have generously pledged $1 million if it can be matched by another $1 million. The money will be used to create a new Holocaust and Genocide Education Program at Tufts Hillel. This $2 million endowment will provide permanent funding for educational trips, art exhibits, lectures, an academic course and more. The goal of the program is not only to learn about the history of the Holocaust, but to take those lessons and apply it to the world around us to help identify and stop on-going and potential mass killings and genocides throughout the world.

We, as Tufts students, want to show The Cummings, other alumni, and the Tufts community at large that we care about genocide and genocide education.    We want this program, and we are willing to work to make it happen.

So where do you fall into this?  Don’t worry - we’re not asking you for $1 million dollars! Just PARTICIPATE. Our goal is to get 100% of the students involved.  Imagine what a statement that would make! Any amount – from $1 to $10, or more – will send a strong message that Tufts students care about this project and want to help make it a reality. Every gift and everyone counts! Are you up for the challenge?

Look out throughout the end of the semester and in the Spring of 2011 for events and education, including a panel of genocide survivors and academic experts to learn more about these issues!
