All food served at Tufts Hillel programs and events is kosher. We have two kosher kitchens in the Granoff Family Hillel Center and prepare kosher meals for Friday night dinner, Shabbat lunch, holiday meals and festive occasions. Our kitchens are operated through a partnership with Tufts Dining Services. Rabbi Jeffrey Summit, along with student Kashrut Supervisors, provide guidance on kosher standards.
Kosher On Campus
Tufts, in partnership with Tufts Hillel, has opened the Pax and Lox deli in the campus center. It’s a certified glatt kosher deli, with a variety of hot and cold sandwiches and other treats to eat in or to eat in the dining halls with friends.
Shabbat and Holidays
Shabbat dinner is served every Friday evening at Hillel. A strict vegetarian meal option is always available to students who do not eat meat or poultry. Kosher meals are also served during Jewish holidays and at Tufts Hillel programs.
For students wishing to follow stricter observance, Tufts Hillel and Tufts Dining Services are always open to exploring options and accommodating special needs whenever possible.
