What is Birthright?

Birthright Israel is an innovative partnership between Jewish communities around the world and the people of Israel, providing the gift of peer-group, educational trips to Israel for Jewish young adults ages 18 to 26. It is made possible with the support of the Government of Israel, private philanthropists, and thousands of donors worldwide.

The Tufts Birthright Experience

With the generous support of Boston’s Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Tufts Hillel is able to offer Birthright Israel trips for eligible Tufts students and their friends. Going to Israel with fellow students from Tufts helps build strong friendships that last long after the trip has ended, with reunion events hosted on campus throughout the semester. These trips are staffed by our own campus professionals, and we work with our trip provider to customize the itinerary in order to provide Tufts students with a truly unique Birthright Israel experience.  You can click here to sign up for priority registration status for your free Israel adventure this winter or next summer.

“Having already been to Israel, I signed up for Birthright for the sole purpose spending time with friends. However, the trip exposed me to new perspectives on Israel, and allowed for me to fall in love with Israel all over again. The staff on the Tufts Birthright trip made the experience so special, and I'm so grateful that I spent those ten days in Israel on Birthright through Tufts Hillel." -Amanda, A19.”

Tufts Hillel can provide this Campus Birthright Israel trip through Combined Jewish Philanthropies’ Israel  IACT initiative.  In addition to opportunities provided on the trip itself, IACT expands the Birthright Israel experience with excellent pre- and post-trip programming, and creates many opportunities for students to engage in Jewish life upon their return from Israel.

Our trips are also open to friends and family members of Tufts students. If they are eligible for Birthright Israel, friends from camp, from home, siblings, and cousins are welcome to join the Tufts Hillel trip! In order to save a spot together, make sure to sign-up today!

Free for Eligible Students

The trip, including airfare, hotels, and food, is free to students who meet the eligibility requirements. Students only need spend on gratuities, personal purchases, and travel or medical insurance.
